Investing.com -- There's nothing like getting the leader of the free world's attention to get a stock to pop. Workhorse is up 12% Monday after news that President Donald Trump was viewing a Lordstown Motors 2021 endurance truck.

Workhorse Group Inc (NASDAQ:WKHS) licenses its intellectual property related to the truck to Lordstown, and Workhorse also holds a 10% stake in the electric vehicle maker.

"Now pool reporters have been brought out to the South Lawn, where they send this report: 'The president was already on the South Lawn when we arrived. He is looking at a Lordstown Motors 2021 endurance truck.'" CNBC's Eamon Javers said on Twitter.

Shares are up more than 800% this year as all things electric steal the spotlight.
